In Partnership: Our Affiliation
At Christ Covenant, we know that the Church did not begin with us, and that we cannot stand alone. We are eager to express our interdependence with the broader body of Christ. We stand in a long line of faithful believers who have maintained and spread the faith for two thousand years; we also acknowledge that we labour and pray shoulder to shoulder with a community presently spread all over the world. It this whole body together that is the revelation of the fullness of Christ, as Paul puts things so strongly in Ephesians 1.22-23.
Knowing that brotherhood requires more than sentiment, but also accountability and service, Christ Covenant Church is a member congregation in the Communion of Reformed Evangelical Churches (CREC). (With the sponsorship of Christ Covenant Church (Langley, BC), we were accepted into the CREC in October 2007.)
The CREC is a rapidly-growing body of Reformed churches (approximately 90 member and mission churches), spread over the United States, Canada, Poland, Russia, Japan and elsewhere. These churches all uphold classical Reformed Protestantism as set forth in confessional documents such as the Three Forms of Unity and the Westminster Standards. More information can be obtained from the CREC web site.
