Ministries
"Ministry" means service. Because we confess Jesus Christ as Lord (Master), we acknowledge that all of life is service to Him. As a congregation, Christ Covenant engages in a variety of ministries - both established, organized works of service, as well as activities which respond to day-to-day needs as they arise.
For more information on our ministries, please see our Activate section.
Organized Ministries
At present, our organized ministries include the following:
Lord's Day Worship
At 10:30 a.m. each Sunday, we gather as God's people to worship Him by receiving Him and His gifts in the Word and sacraments, and by offering ourselves to Him, not only through listening to the Word and participating in the sacraments, but also by offering Him our songs, prayers, and gifts.
Prior to our worship service, we also sometimes have a brief congregational time of prayer and praise from 10-10:15 a.m.
Body & Soul Youth Group
Our young people meet every second Thursday for a time of fun, fellowship, and instruction. We have two general age groups, covering age 6 and up.
Bible Studies, Catechism, and Other Learning Opportunities

As well as Sunday instruction, we engage in various Bible studies, couples groups, discussion groups, and prayer meetings (see our calendar for current information). Some of these events are conducted by our ordained leadership, and some carried out by other congregational members. In the past, we have gone through a variety of material, including Peter Leithart's excellent survey of the Old Testament, A House for My Name, and Jim Wilson's book How to Be Free From Bitterness.
Other Avenues of Service
At Christ Covenant, we serve the local community in various ways. In 2007, for example, we took a leading role in a walk-a-thon to raise money for Voice for Life and Kev's Kids. We continue to look for other ways in which we can promote a healthy community and display the love of Jesus Christ.
At a less formal level, we seek to honour God, build up His people, and extend the kingdom of Christ through various means, such as being active in hospitality, opening up our homes to share our lives and the life of Christ with others.
