Pastoral care at Christ Covenant is provided by a team of vocational elders (i.e. elders who have full-time callings outside of church ministry). We are also served by one vocational deacon.
To see how some of our unordained team are engaged in Christian service, please see Activists and Activities.
Theo Hoekstra became our full-time pastor in 2014, after serving congregations in Neerlandia, Alberta, and on the Sunshine Coast of British Columbia. Theo and his wife Margaret have six children.
Before God rescued him as a young man, Dale Callahan appeared headed for a life of violence and petty crime. That rescue has helped make Dale particularly effective in communicating God's grace to the unchurched.
By vocation, Dale is a letter-carrier. He and his wife Bonita have four children.
Information about Gary Duke will be added shortly.
In addition, we have two elders on sabbatical: George Plante and Jamie Soles.
Raised in the Reformed faith from infancy, Leo Wattel was born in the Netherlands and moved to Canada as a teenager.
Leo owns a couple of local businesses involved in concrete work and construction. He serves as our deacon and treasurer.
Leo and his wife Yolanda have nine children.
Robin Shoemaker and his wife Bernice have four children and a growing tally of grandchildren. He became a deacon with Christ Covenant Church in 2015.
