garage sale update

Just a note that the garage sale originally scheduled for next weekend was held yesterday and today instead. We're thankful to report that over $600 was raised for Christ Covenant!

council meeting summary

All council members were present.

1. Council did some work in tweaking the language of the church constitution. All council members are to study the constitution prior to the next council meeting, with the hope of providing a version to the congregation as soon as possible.

2. Council agreed to some liturgical revisions as put forward by Mr Plante and Mr Gallant.

3. Council discussed the proper content of the congregational prayer (Prayer of the Church). We will work toward a better balance of intercession, rather than largely focusing upon the needs of individual members and families.

4. Discussed establishing a pattern for the participation of council members in the liturgy.

5. Regarding payment for sermons, council formally decided to pay the amount previously mentioned, $250 per sermon, subject to future review.

6. Next council meeting: Monday, June 26, 7.30 p.m.

Jewel Soles broke her arm on Sunday evening. Brother Joseph also fell and required stitches next to his eyebrow. Please pray for these children and for the others of our congregation who are struggling with illness.
