Visitor Information Quick info for newcomers
Haven’t visited us yet? Here’s the nitty-gritty.
How to Find Us
If you want to join us for worship, please do! We are now meeting 2:30 pm Sundays at 9101 104 Ave in Grande Prairie (Coram Deo Church facility).
What to Expect
Expect to hear preaching right out of the Bible. We believe the Bible is God’s Word to us, and that God doesn’t make mistakes when he speaks, and that what he says matters more than anything else. Indeed, everything else matters precisely in how it relates to what God says.
Our music too is Bible-driven. A lot of it is straight from the Psalms, while the rest is deeply Bible-based. How we sing shapes how we think.
Our worship could perhaps best be described as semi-formal liturgical. That is, we use an order of service that would be largely recognizable for anyone down through church history. The congregation is embraced as participants rather than as an audience, so rather than “special music” to listen to or performances to observe, expect to be drawn in to communal singing and spoken responses. We are hearing God together, and speaking, singing and praying together.
We celebrate the Lord’s Supper weekly. We believe the belongs to the people of God specifically, and to the whole people of God. Meaning that if you have been baptized in a Christian church and have not been excommunicated, you are welcome to share with us, whatever your age.
How to Prepare
We encourage people to remember they are meeting God himself and dress accordingly, but we don’t get hung up on whether someone is suited up or dressed casually.
It’s a great idea to clear your schedule for the afternoon if you are able. More often than not, someone is likely to invite you to share some of their Sunday. Of course, even if you only have time to stop in for church and then go elsewhere, we look forward to worshiping with you. But we would love to share more time with you; at least stick around for the fellowship time afterward if you can.
